Classic floor lamp by Vilhelm Lauritzen: model VL38, now with LED The most famous works by the Danish architect Vilhelm Lauritzen (1894-1984) include the Danish broadcasting house “Radiohuset” in Copenhagen and the first airport in the Danish capital. In terms of lighting, he is most well-known for the VL38, which is named after him and was designed in the late-1930s for the “Radiohuset”. The Danish lighting manufacturer Louis Poulsen included the model in its catalogue back then and this classic is now enjoying a revival. It has now been fitted with LED technology and thus represents a modern lighting solution in the popular retro look. The head and standpipe on the floor lamp can be easily angled in line with the needs of the user. The brightness can be set to two different levels (50% and 100%) and the lamp includes a memory function. The VL38 LED table lamp also comes with another practical feature: a timer, which automatically switches the light off after four or eight hours. Note
