Pendant lamp PH 3 1/2 - 3 - Design icon with indirect light This pendant luminaire is a true primeval rock among the designer lamps. The Danish designer, architect, journalist, author and critic Poul Henningsen, whose initials adorn the name of the lamp, designed it as early as 1925/26. Henningsen's 42-year-long cooperation with the renowned Danish manufacturer Louis Poulsen has resulted in numerous lamps that are as relevant today as they were then. Their common motif is the curved shade elements, which create an indirect, glare-free light. PH 3 1/2 - 3, for example, has a triple subdivided shade made of drawn aluminium. The upper element is almost flat, the middle element is dome-shaped and the lower element is cylindrical. A central opening runs through the three sections, so that light is reflected from the white painted underside of one element to the powder-coated upper side of the section below.
