A Peshtemal, or hamam towel is a traditional Turkish towel, originally used in Turkish baths and now used in a variety of ways: around the home a a decorative throws, light blanket, or table covering. They’re a useful fashion item for the summer used as a scarf, beach wrap or sarong. Lightweight and quick drying, they make a great travel towel, or yoga or Pilates accessory. Traditionally made by hand, on looms, by Turkish women, hamam towels are made with high quality cotton, making them lighter and thinner than terrycloth towels.
