Tasting Notes Lochleas Fallow Edition Second Crop Single Malt Scotch Whisky reflects the season of autumn on the farm, when the fields are left fallow to rest after a busy harvest. This expression is made with a combination of Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks bringing forth a harmonious fusion to create a beautifully rich, autumnal dram with a very different flavour profile to the First Crop. The Oloroso butts give deep, rich notes of manuka honey and golden syrup, whilst the introduction of the PX casks provides warming layers of sweetly spiced ginger candy and ground coffee beans. These first-fill sherry casks ensure a profound influence on the spirit, imparting layers of complexity and depth which youll want to go back to again and again.
