Let Me Tell You: Reminiscences - A.C.R. Carter. Published by Hutchinson & Co., Hardback (no dust jacket) 1940. Illustrated. A.C.R. (Albert Charles Robinson) Carter (1864-1957) was a journalist, art critic and collector. This is a book of his memoirs, or reminiscences, of which he had an abundance, and therefore much had to be left out. The aim of this work, therefore, was to serve up a variety of themes suitable to different tastes. These reminiscences are mostly connected with art in its narrowest meaning, but some relate to 'the arts' in more general terms; for example some of Lord Nelson's letters, Shakespeare's plays, and a book by William Gladstone. Condition: Good. The pages are tanned to varying degrees, but otherwise clean and tightly bound. Around the edges outside can be found tanning, additionally along the top there is ground-in dust. A couple of liquid stains are on the fore-edge, plus a small brown mark on the bottom. Outside, the cover (especially the spine) is cons
