A book based on lectures given by Sir Kenneth Clark, former director of the National Gallery London looking at man's relationship to landscape as reflected in painting. First edition published in 1949. The unclipped dust-jacket is worn with a tear and a small amount of loss. It is protected with film cover which has been taped to the jacket. The cloth-covered hardback is in very good condition apart from bumping at the ends of the spine and corners. The binding is tight and the pages unmarked apart from age yellowing.
