A classic of travel writing, in which the author recounts his Odyssey on foot from Land's End to John O'Groats. First edition hardcover in dust jacket, not price clipped. We believe this to be the second state of the jacket, with the words "Book Society Alternative Choice" at the foot of the front panel, and a single review (from the Bookman) on the front flap. However, we have not seen a copy without these attributes. Brown cloth, with light grey spine title labels lettered in gilt, top edge grey. Black & white photographs and maps. The cloth has faded very slightly, and the boards have bowed very slightly. Internally there is some mild offsetting to free endpapers, and the odd minor mark, otherwise clean.
