You screw on the valve yourself to achieve the desired boost pressure. The adjustment screw has fixed tight positions so you can clearly feel how much you are adjusting when you turn the screw and it does not risk changing during vibrations or while driving. It is easy to adjust the screw without having to loosen any nuts.
