The double-jointed mouthpiece provides independent action on each side of the horses mouth. The unique apple scent increases acceptance of the bit for both young and older horses. This will not interfere with a horses palate, is great for advanced training and is one of the most popular mouthpieces for dressage work. Like most English snaffle bits the primary action is the pull on the bars of the mouth. The single jointed mouth piece exerts a nut cracker effect when the bit is engaged, pressuring the tongue and roof of the mouth. (V shape) Due to the extra joint the nut cracker effect is reduced because they conform better to the horses U shaped mouth.
