A biography of the actor Henry Irving by Edward Gordon Craig, an English modernist theatre practitioner who himself worked as an actor, director and scenic designer, as well as developing an influential body of theoretical writings. Craig was the son of actress Dame Ellen Terry and a friend of Irving. Illustrated with black and white plates and colour frontispiece. Book condition: Good. Dark green cloth-covered boards, blind stamped initials on front with gilt lettering to spine, which is sunned. Shelfwear. Top edge stained green. Ink stain to bottom edge.
