Aged in American oak for 24 months then matured in the bottle for a further 16 months, its número uno with big meat dishes and strong cheeses. 100% Tempranillo from their Entradas de San Ángel vineyard, 2.8 hectares which contains 60-year-old bush-trained vineyard. Its an elegant, deeply complex and silky-smooth red thats brimming with coconut sweetness, floral notes, spiced plum crumble (you can almost taste the caramelised brown sugar in the topping) raspberry, redcurrants, blackcurrants, wild herbs and woody cumin. That wonderful leathery edge of age is creeping in, but it remains surprisingly fresh suggesting that this will continue to evolve beautifully over the remainder of the decade.
