This Great Domesday county edition is from a donation to Oxfam by the distributors of Alecto's facsimile 1986 reproduction of the Domesday Book of 1086, (in conjunction with the Public Record Office, now the National Archive). It comprises three volumes cloth-bound in dark brown & cream that comprise: - Domesday Book Studies (general) - Introduction and Translation - Derbyshire - Folios (facsimiles) and Maps Its clam-shell case is quarter-bound in deep red leather and gilt titling, with bright red cloth covers and contains a red folding reading support. Although the volumes are 'as new' having storage wear only, the clamshell case has rubbed spine ends and bumped corners, with some fraying. Because of its weight (6.5Kg), this will be sent by courier.
