Scarce item. Limited edition of 1000 copies, this is set number 362. Three large volumes in a card slipcase. Each volume is quarter bound with a cream cloth spine with gilt titles, and brown paper covered boards. The books are all as new with the exception of a tiny white mark on the front board near the fore edge of one of them. The card slipcase is covered in matching brown paper, it has some light surface rubbing/shelf wear. The first volume is: Domesday Book Studies 1987 with a general introduction followed by special studies by various authors on subjects such as 'How Land was held before and after the Norman Conquest', 'The Domesday Boroughs', 'The Castles of the Conquest'. The second volume is: The Hampshire Domesday, Introduction and Translation 1989, containing an index of place names and an index of persons and ecclesiastical bodies.
