He studied at Maidstone College of Art and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (first class honours) in 1970. He worked in London as a graphic designer and his illustrations were accepted for several Design Annuals in this country and abroad including Design and Art Direction and European Illustration. He won Gold and Silver Awards for illustration from the Designers and Art Directors Association and a Gold Award from the New York Art Directors.
