Glyndebourne Festival Opera has run every year apart from the years of WWII (1941-45) and 1993, when the theatre was rebuilt (it reopened in 1994). In 1951, the first Programme Book was issued, containing details of all the operas to be performed during the season, information about the performers etc, and (of course) advertisements from appropriate companies. By 1960, these had become quite glossy affairs, and Osbert Lancaster was asked to design a cover for that year's issue. This is a portfolio bound in green official file of Glyndebourne programmes from 1957 to 1963 (including the 25th anniversary programme) and 1969. Each programme comes a large format paperback with colourful covers, many illustrations and period advertisement. The front of the folder cover is slightly stained . The programmes themselves are in good, clean condition with very few signs of wear.
