This packet contains an envelope and markings to commemorate the transfer of power in Hong Kong on June 30th, 1997. The envelope has a colour drawing of a Chinese dragon dance and is part of the Fourpenny Post Series. There are 4 orange '1st Class' Machin stamps alongside a larger stamp with no marked value showing buildings, a Chinese junk and dragon. The Machins are overstamped with an image of a dragon and the words 'Farewell - Chinatown London W1, Midnight 30 June 1997'. The stamps and envelope are in excellent condition, with no signs of damage or wear.
