Robert Bowne Minturn Jr. (1836 - 1889) was born in New York City, graduated from Columbia University in 1856, and joined his father's shipping firm, Grinnell, Minturn & Co, best known as being the owners of the clipper ship Flying Cloud. This book is an account (with much detail) of Minturn's voyage in connection with his work. Condition: Good. This book is more than 160 years old, and still in good condition. Although the pages are tanned and foxed, including the end papers, they are eminently readable. Some handwriting in ink, plus a date, appear on the page opposite the front free end paper.
