Framed artwork, portrait of two boys. Untitled and undated. The clothing suggests European, possibly Italian, and dates to approx. 1880s as does the technique. The image appears to be either a photographic enlargement printed on canvas or pasted onto canvas and then a layer of oil paint applied. The paint is applied thinly to skin regions and more thickly, with texture, to the collar, hose and shoe, button and buckle areas. Wooden frame with bevels and sculptured floral detail measuring 36cm x 43cm. The visible artwork is 29.5cm x 37cm and is under glass. In antique condition with wear commensurate with age. The frame is in good condition with no chips. The glazing is intact. The artwork has split in three areas; on the left leg of the standing child (approx. 5cm), to the immediate left of that leg (approx. 6cm), also above left side of his head (approx. 5cm) and to the right of his buttons (approx. 1.5cm). There is light staining on the face of the seated child, just below his rig
