A collection of twenty-four fairy tales - some now classics, others less well known - translated by J. R. Planché and published in 1858, with illustrations by Godwin, Corbould and Harvey. Red cloth, decorative gilt titles to front and spine, blind stamped to back. Edgeworn and scuffed, a few small marks, spine sunned. Inner hinges split showing webbing, binding shaken, front endpapers plus one inner page loose. Text block edges browned, top edge grey. Small marks (mostly marginal), old tape marks front endpaper and pastedown, scattered foxing, but text and plates clean. xii, 558 pp plus 6pp publisher's catalogue to rear; 10 b&w plates (including frontis), most with loose tissue protector.
