Foscarini Birdie LED grande – LED designer table lamp with touch dimmer In 2011, Ludovica and Roberto Palomba, a designer couple from Milan, completely reinterpreted the shape and function of the traditional table lamp with lampshade, and designed the Birdie table lamp for the prestigious lamp manufacturer Foscarini. When you look more closely it’s clear to see how they were inspired by nature. This is because you can recognise similarities between the stem and the stem of a tree, between the conical-shaped lampshade and the crown of a tree, and between the filigree cross-strut and a branch. And it's exactly this branch that almost looks as if it was made to have a little bird sitting on it, which is how the table lamp came to get its name.
