(I have listed a handful of interesting compact disc-packages, that all feature 1980s-vintage, U.S.S.R.-based recordings of Russian composers' works ... To access all of these listings at the same time, I suggest entering "recd. USSR" [not including the quotation-marks], or if that does not work, then add a "(" at the beginning!) A collectable compact disc-package, released in the Mid-Nineties on the desirable "Olympia"-label. It features a pair of tremendous, "Iron Curtain"-era recordings - made in the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, in 1982 - of Symphonies Nos. 20 & 23, by the Crimean-born composer Alemdar Karamanov (1934-2007, approximately eleven years after this package's release). This prolific man was called, "... one of the most original and unique composers of our time ...", by none-other-than Dmitri Shostakovich! The performers, are The U.S.S.R.
