The ProtectoSpark is a welding fume extractor filter that can be retrofitted to the ProtectoXtracTop to enable it to be used for grinding applications. The ProtectoSpark traps hot metallic particles before they reach the 5-stage filter system, providing improved safety for the user. The spark protection for the ProtectoXtract welding fume extractor can be retrofitted to prevent sparks from damaging the filter. The spark protection consists of a baffle and a collecting tray. The polluted air is sucked in via extraction elements (e.g. extraction arm) and enters the filter unit through the air intake. The air hits the baffle plate and is deflected along the baffle plate towards the collecting tray. At the collecting tray, the air deflects by 180 and enters the particle filter. The larger particles, such as extinguished spark particles, are deflected by the baffle plate and fall into the collecting tray.
