A breathtaking collection of photos and postcards from the very first days of aviation into the First World War. The collection comprises three albums. The first holds 65 photographs, the second holds 111 postcards and the third is a scrap book of press cuttings. The scrapbook is dated 1909 and gives the name of the young man who put together the collection. We feel he must have been a fanatic to his hobby as he has added copious notes and references. The photos and postcards are in good to excellent condition and are well written up. Some of the postcards have been used and some have comments on the reverse. This is a most detailed study into the very early days of manned flight and takes in the days of the First World War, so there are pictures of captured planes etc. We have taken professional advice concerning the value of this collection.
