Tasting NotesAlthough Ballot-Millot may be more famed for their white wines, weve thoroughly fallen in love with the Volnay Premier Cru Santenots. ; It hails from a half-hectare of vines and displays red berry fruit, rose petal, earthy spices and sunshine vibrancy. Although it will age beautifully, its tastes wonderful right about now and we always make sure we have a few bottles squirrelled away for the festive period. Chapeau to that new wax seal too. ; Based in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, Charles Ballot runs the exemplary estate brought together by the union of his grandparents. Ballot-Millot owns an excellent array of vineyards from Chassagne-Montrachet to Pommard and employs a slow and gentle pressing, which draws out only the finest juice and allows a little oxidation that protects the wine as it matures in oak barrels.
