Like in the original, the player controls a Furon alien named Cryptosporidium-137, or “Crypto”, whose goal is to eradicate humanity and conquer Earth. The game is set in an open world environment, where the player can wreak havoc among the civilians and military personnel using a variety of cosmic weapons. Crypto alien can also use his powers such as telekinesis and an ability to disguise himself as a human to put his plan in motion. The remake introduces several new mechanics, including a Focus Mode, in which the player can lock onto enemies.
