This is the complete edition of Spengler's most famous work, The Decline of the West : Outlines of a Morphology of World History, first published in two volumes in 1918 and 1922. Volume 1 was titled Form and Reality, volume 2 was titled World-historical Perspectives. Spengler was a polymath, whose areas of interest included history, philosophy, mathematics, science, and art, as well as their relation to his organic theory of history. His model of history postulates that human cultures and civilizations are akin to biological entities, each with a limited, predictable, and deterministic lifespan.
