In 1941 Miss Amice Calverley gave to the Royal Ontario Museum her large & important collection of Rumanian costume. This sparked the original research done by the author, then in charge of ROM's textile dept, and in time led to the theory of the relation of cut of garment to loom width of cloth presented here. This generous gift has also been an inspiration in the development of the collections. Some damage to upper edge of covers, and all pages correspondingly slightly creased; otherwise in good condition; no annotations noticed.
