The Crown Keepers of the New Forest have been guardians of the Forest and its wildlife for almost 1000 years. The New Forest has international designations, which recognize the globally rare habitats, and species that live here. It is widely accepted to be one of the most important areas of wildlife in the UK, but nearly 14 million visitors a year put great pressures on the Forest. The Crown Keepers are the frontline of the Forestry Commission team that looks after the Forest. Sally Fear spent five years deep in the heart of the New Forest recording the work of the modern day Crown Keepers and the flora and fauna that they manage. Sally Fear works as a documentary photographer on assignments for magazines including the Observer, Sunday Times, Time and Fortune. She has also published two books on New Forest Commoning. Foreword by HRH the Duke of Edinburgh. Author inscribed. Published in 2016 in an edition of 2000 copies. Fully illustrated with colour photographs, many full plate,
