A set of two Rowe tragedies, The Fair Penitent and the Life of Jane Shore which have been bound into one small volume. The Fair Penitent was first published in 1632 and Jane Shore in 1714; this volume's editions are dated 1733. They were both sold by W. Feales at Rowe's Head, in the Strand. A previous owner's name is on the first page. This is in very good condition on the binding/cover; the boards are relatively recent as the book has been rebound. The pages are in very good condition for their age, considering that they are almost three hundred years old. The pages are discoloured and the paper stock is relevant to age. The only real damage is where they have been bound previously, possibly with tape.
