195 original pre-Second World War postcards from the Touraine, 181 of which are of the castles and their interiors, and the other 14 of which are of French historical figures. The name Vida Lancefield is written on the first page of the binder holding the cards, with date April 1931. Some of the pages holding the cards give the location and a date; if the dates are correct this was rather a whistle-stop tour, completed in only a few days at the beginning of April 1931. Together the cards comprise both a stunning depiction of French architecture, and a fascinating record of a visit to this part of France. The custom binder holding the cards is half-bound in green cloth on marbled paper. The cards are held on grey card pages, with one or more usually two cards per side of each page. There is some rubbing and slight discolouration to the cloth, and some minor spotting and discolouration to the perimeters of some of the pages, but the postcards themselves have all survived very well.
