This is another excellent release from Christian Drouin, a single vintage Calvados from 1993. This has been double distilled in copper-pot stills and double matured in Calvados and Sauternes casks. The nose is intense with aromas of rose, nougat, hazelnut and spices. On the palate those spices are there, but come with stewed apples and rich caramel, like a beautiful tarte tatin.
