Tasting Notes Winner of a gold medal at the International Spirits Challenge 2021. Chairmans Reserve 2009 Vintage Rum is only the second single vintage bottling of Saint Lucias finest to be released. Its a blend of rums distilled in 2005 on John Dore and Vendome pot stills and a traditional Coffey column still. Each component was aged for 11 years in ex-Bourbon barrels before being married together for six months. Bottled at a stronger than usual 46% this is powerful stuff that reminds us of the old Harvey Nichols favourite Foursquare. Rich and decadent it presents lots of wood varnish antique oak smoky leather jackets (think rock bars in the 1990s) vanilla pods dried pineapple candied mango passionfruit banana tangy lime buttered toast olives coriander seeds dark chocolate cracked peppercorns roasted nuts and tobacco.
