In English - translated from the Portuguese by Ana Lowndes Marques. Gulbenkian (born 1869, died 1965) was a financier and philanthropist. Born in Istanbul, he lived in Lisbon. Portugal, and established a huge collection there of art. His Collection was mostly paintings, but also books, coins, sculptures, tableware, furniture and textiles. This book is a biography, illustrated with more than 38 colour and black and white images of some of the collection. Also photographs of the collector and places associated with him.
