In the 1970s BBC Radio in the UK broadcast a series calledListening and Reading. These programs were intended to inspire a love of reading and books in children, particularly those in households that where these things were rare. The idea was that schools would record the programs and then play them for groups of students who would follow along in books. The stories are quite delightful! We are offering the following (all 1975 editions): 1. Lion at School (Philippa Pearce) 2. The Wolf and the Seven Little Kids 3. Shadrach (Meindert deJong) 4. The Thingummyjig (R. C. Scriven) 5. Mr Miacca (adapted from Joseph Jacob's English Fairy Tales) 6. Stig of the Dump (Clive King) 7. The Poltergoose (R. C. Scriven) 8. James and the Giant Peach (Roald Dahl) 9. Return to Air (Philippa Pearce) 10. Robinson Crusoe (Daniel Defoe) 11. The Balaclava Story (George Layton) All in good condition, if slightly age-worn.
