Building Geometry

Geometry had its birth in the East mainly as a result of "Landsmarks," being washed away or displaced by floods. It became necessary to have some means of re-establishing the "Landmarks" or what builders today call "pegs," by means of measurements from a mumber of known, fixed points. Today the science is used in surveying the land and fixing the boundaries which are set out on the Ordnance Survey maps, leaving little room for disputes or litigation. Geometry is a fundamental tool in the hands of any student studying building, architecture, surveying or engineering. Part of the Longmans Building Craft series it contains 430 diagrams.
