Tasting Notes Those who know Bowmore whisky will know that the classic Bowmore 15 year old is a combination of Bourbon and Sherry casks, so may be asking what makes this particular whisky any different. But this is where the finish comes into play. After being aged separately in Oloroso Sherry and ex-Bourbon casks, the whisky is then married and finished in an Oloroso Sherry seasoned cask. This whisky really captures the elegance of the Bowmore single malt, with that extra layer of Sherry cask sweetness. Expect notes of raisins and sweet dates to start, followed by aromas of sweet spices, cinnamon, cocoa beans as well as dark chocolate and subtle smoke. On the palate, this is a rich whisky, with natural smoke, minerality, treacle, cedarwood, cloves and liquorice root with a woody, sweet and fruity finish.
