Bill Oddie, TV personality and naturalist, had been a bird-watcher for over 30 years at the time of writing the book. This book describes the 'misery, the scandal and the heartbreak of birding', using inside knowledge revealing the scurrilous truth about the world of birds. It is illustrated with some of his drawings, 'some dreadful and others not at all bad'. This copy is signed by the author. The maroon coloured cloth boards with gilt lettering are in very good condition, the top edge of the dust jacket shows a little shelf wear. The inside is bright and clear with no markings.
