This Chokeberry makes a fine spectacle, and offers plenty of interest throughout the year. Aronia x prunifolia 'Viking' bears its white, sometimes pink-tinged blooms, from late spring, which are followed by edible, round black fruits with a slightly tart flavour. The berries make an interesting addition fruit puddings and jams, but spare a few for the birds who will appreciate them in late autumn and winter. The autumn foliage of Aronia x prunifolia 'Viking' is impressive, turning to vivid shades of orange, red and purple.
