An eternally popular L.P. that was released in 1971 on the "EMI His Master's Voice"-label. This is "An Elisabeth Schwarzkopf Song Book" volume 3, whereby the lovely German-born (in the town of Jarotschin, in what was eastern Germany - it is now part of Poland and the Poles call it "Jarocin") soprano, who lived between 1915 and 2006, recites a whole host of European compositions, while being backed by either Geoffrey Parsons or Gerald Moore, on piano. The composers on this beautiful compilation, are - in the following order : Franz Schubert (3 pieces) ; Robert Schumann (1 piece) ; Frederic Chopin (2 pieces) ; Frederick Loewe (1 piece) ; Edvard Grieg (3 pieces) ; Richard Strauss (3 short songs, on one vinyl band) ; Franz "Ferenc" Liszt (1 piece) ; and, last but by no means least, Gustav Mahler (1 piece) ...
