Early Karamojong Headrest, Northern Uganda An early headrest from the Karamojong region of northern Uganda. Made from a single piece of wood carefully bent into shape to form the supporting legs. A twisted leather strap connects each support which would have also acted as a handle. It stands approx 8 inches high. There are water marks and a touch of white paint on one side, and the wood on the underside has begun to split. Please see photos. Estimated Period: Mid-20th Century We also have a smaller similar headrest for sale on a separate listing.
