A history of the publishers Hodder & Stoughton from its early days in the late 1800s through to the mid-1970s, written by one of its former Deputy Chairmen. Illustrated with many b&w photographs. With a dedication, signed by the author, to his friend B. L. Kennedy on FEP. Hardback, with DJ. Five small tears to edges of jacket, with slight bumping to corners and chipping to head and tail of spine. Spine and patches of covers sun-faded. Bound in burgundy leather with gilt lettering. Slight bumping to spine and one corner, otherwise vgc. Contents clean and unmarked with slight foxing to page edges and FEP.
