This is the second volume (L to Z) of the 1756 abridged edition of Johnsons 1755 Dictionary, being an abstract of the folio edition with a grammar section in vol.I. It is not paginated. Front board detached, with free endpaper crudely attached to it by tape, together with title page & first text page; the next page is detached (all pages appear to be present); rear free endpaper loose; many pages stained/foxed; no annotations noticed other than on front endpaper, which bears ex-librisWm Hunt, annotationC.M.Hunt, and pencil annotation as follows (some words are unclear):Bought at Stratford on Avon Sep 3/74 from a bookseller residing in the street where Shakespear was born. A former possessor of the book Mr Hunt presented[?] the famous portrait of Shakespear to the town of Stratford which[?] is now shown in Shakespears house.
