This collection of Rainer Maria Rilke's poems focuses solely on Orpheus and the Myth of Orpheus Eurydice. This collection includes Rilke's 1907 poem Orpheus, Eurydice, Hermes, which was nominated for the title Greatest Poem of the 20th Century, and Rilke's 1922 Sonnets to Orpheus, in their totality. It also includes a brief selection from Rilke's Duino Elegies 1922. This original English translation by Frank Scalambrino 2020 concludes with a look into the coherency of Rilke's poems to Orpheus by way of a discussion of their philosophical and mythical influences.
