Newlyweds Dexter and Juliet Munro (Stanley Baxter and Sally Smith) purchase a rundown, ramshackle cottage to escape from her father, the overbearing Shakespearean actor-manager Sir Beverly Grant (James Robertson Justice). The cottage is in dire need of refurbishment - and Sir Beverly is determined to get in on the act!
