The 'core' of the Mid Touring intermediate jacket is made of legendary Polartec Power Stretch stretch fleece. Its inner surface is softly brushed, and the exterior is smoother. It absorbs very little moisture, functioning in layered clothing exactly as a good midlayer jacket should. Polartec Alpha, on the other hand, is a long-pile 'fuzzy fleece' that traps a lot of air in the front and shoulders of the jacket. This Alpha version differs from traditional fuzzy fleece with its air channels: the long-pile fleece has 'stripes' (see additional image).
