A traditional moka pot works on electric and gas stoves (but not induction) as long as the stoves pot supports extend far enough toward the center of the burner. To use it, unscrew the moka pot (the top and bottom parts are threaded together), pour cold or hot water into the bottom section, insert the filter, fill it with your favorite coffee, and screw the top back on. Place the pot on the stove or burner. Boiling water creates pressure that pushes the water through the coffee grounds. Once coffee starts brewing, its best to reduce the heat. When all the water in the bottom has vaporized and the coffee is ready, the pot will start to make gurgling soundsthis is the right moment to take it off the stove.
