The upper combines a white leather base with light grey suede overlays and a color-matched Swoosh in shaggy suede. Embossed on the lateral heel, a Gold Mountain graphic represents the hope of good fortune that attracted tens of thousands of Chinese immigrants during the California Gold Rush. Decorating the tongue and insole are lotus flowers and Chinese characters that spell out Gau Gam Saan, or Old Gold Mountain. The neutral earth tones up top are contrasted by an ocean-blue translucent rubber outsole.
