Artists Edition with the works of American Quaker poet, John Greenleaf Whittier. The poet was strongly influenced by Scottish poet, Robert Burns. Whittier was an ardent advocate of the abolition of slavery in the United States. This view is apparent in his anti-slavery poems (present in this edition) and in Vol. VII "The Conflict with Slavery."
