Large Polaroid photo archive of a Black man named Robert Lee Jackson serving time in California prisons. 44 photos include scenes of family visits, small gatherings and even his wedding in prison. Comes with a newspaper clipping of a 1978 San Francisco Chronicle article on "The Brides of Folsom Prison", which profiles several of the male prisoners who had married at Folsom at the time. In the article, we find out that Jackson is incarcerated for burglary and assault, with hopes of being paroled soon. Photos dated from 1976-80. Many photos are captioned, with most also being date stamped on verso. Many photos depict Jackson and his wife and two kids, who stayed with him throughout the span of his time locked up. He is seen in a variety of civilian and prison clothing throughout the years, suggesting that he was possibly in and out of incarceration throughout these four years.
