This neat little wood and metal (likely zinc) printer's block was created anonymously, probably in the mid-20th century, to create an interesting map encompassing a large region across the central and southern United States. While some states like Nebraska, Louisiana, and Oklahoma have immediately recognizable borders (despite the mirrored image), others incorporate entirely new regions. New Mexico extends into West Texas (itself subdivided into five sections), Little Rock has split from Arkansas, and Missouri is divided along east/west lines. The purpose of the untitled block and resulting map are unknown and difficult to ascertain. Sheet Width (in) 3.5 Sheet Height (in) 3.5 Condition Description Wood and zinc printer's block, roughly hewn, with signs of wear and use. Some scattered abrasions, ink-staining, etc. Very good overall.
